Facebook Success!

We recently watched "The Social Network" about the beginning of Facebook which was incredibly interesting to me. Then just this week, because of the new messaging system that Kasey got on Facebook which allows you to see all the messages you have ever sent to someone, we stumbled across the first messages that Kasey and I ever sent to each other.


This night in 2005 I had seen Kasey in the library and she was looking for a disk. I helped be her lookout man while she went behind the counter to see if anyone had turned it in or something like that. Thus leading to our first Facebook exchanges. And here they are for your viewing pleasure. :)


Kasey (Sept 22, 2005): the disk was not mine :( Today was not my day.



Darin (Sept 22, 2005): Man, that stinks that it wasnt your disk. And after all that trouble I went to to be the lookout man. :) Well, I hope your day goes better today. Also, if you arent busy on Saturday night I was wondering if you might want to go do something. I would ask you in person but I dont have your number and figured I probably wouldnt see you again before then and I would get real embarassed at your house. Well, just let me know. Kasey (Sept 23, 2005): I'm game for saturday. Even though it is really lame to ask someone out on facebook, jk. I am actually in marching band, cool I know, so I have to play at the football game saturday. I should be done around 6 or so. My cell phone # is 386-334-6829

And thus was the start of our dating relationship. Now almost 6 years and two kids later, I am glad I was not afraid to sink as low as asking someone out on Facebook. Thank you Mark Zuckerberg!
